Mehron Is Clown Makeup

Here's a trivia question for the beginning of 2009. How many Presidents of Makeup Companies do you suppose have actually delivered Makeup to the Clowns of Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus? Well I know of one for sure and most likely the only one. Martin Melik, President and Son of the founder of Mehron, Mehron Melik, had to deliver the Makeup to the clowns backstage at Madison Square Garden when the circus came to Manhattan. Mehron Melik began making makeup by hand in his off Broadway loft for the theatrical community in 1927, and this included the performing clowns. As the years went by and the clowns craved Mehron Clown makeup Mr. Melik would custom make clown makeup especially for the stars of the Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus and when he was old enough, Martin would hand deliver the custom made Clown Makeup backstage to the waiting clowns.

As Martin Melik related to Global Cosmetic Industry Magazine in an October 2008 Interview when speaking about his early delivery chores for his Father's Company, " to Madison Square Garden when Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus or the Ice Capades were in town." Do you suppose any other President of a major Theatrical makeup Company has such hands on experience as this, actually delivering the product to the clowns waiting backstage for their Clown Makeup Faces to be delivered by the son of the man who custom made their Clown makeup.
