2010 Makeup Emmy Nominees Part 5

In the Category of Outstanding Makeup For a Miniseries Or a Movie (Non-Prosthetic) the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Nominees for the 2010 Emmy Award includes two Nominations for Dorothy Pearl, both as Department Makeup Head. In Georgia O'Keeffe, presented by Lifetime, a Sony Picture Television for Lifetime Television Production, Ms. Pearl is nominated along with Personal Makeup Artists, Kelley Gore Jefferson and Tarra Day, who also received a second nomination in this same category. For the Bee Holder,Cine Mosaic and Levinson/Fontana Productions in association with HBO, You Don't Know Jack, Dorothy Pearl was nominated for the 2010 Emmy along with Academy Award Makeup Artist John Caglione, Jr.

The second Emmy Nomination in this same category, Outstanding Makeup For a Miniseries Or a Movie (Non-Prosthetic), for Tarra Day in her role as Department Head Makeup Artist comes for the HBO presentation. Temple Grandin, A Ruby Films, Gerson Saines Production in Association with HBO Films. For this nomination Ms. Day is joined by Key Makeup Artist, Merdith Johns.

Rounding out the category for the 2010 Emmy Award for Outstanding Makeup For a Miniseries Or a Movie (Non-Prosthetic), is the Department Head Makeup Artist Chiara Tripodi and Makeup Artist Toni French for the HBO presentation, The Pacific, a Playtone and Dreamworks Production in association with HBO Miniseries.

This year, 2010, at the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards presented by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences honor the crafters of this Makeup Specialty. Also nominated from ABC Studios for How Insensitive, an episode of Grey's Anatomy are Norman Leavitt, Department Head Makeup Artist, Bari Dreband-Burman, Makeup Effects Artist, Thom Floutz, Makeup Effects Artist, Bart Mixon, Makeup Effects Artist, Vincent Van Dyke, Prosthetic Designer and Thomas Burman, Prosthetic Designer.

Bari Dreband-Burman, Makeup Effects Artist, Thom Floutz, Makeup Effects Artist, Bart Mixon, Makeup Effects Artist, Vincent Van Dyke, Prosthetic Designer and Thomas Burman, Prosthetic Designer received a second Nomination for Nip/Tuck, Engma, FX Networks with Stephanie Fowler, Department Makeup Head.

Rounding out the nominations for Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup for a Series , Miniseries, Movie Or A Special are the Makeup Personal from two HBO Productions. For The Pacific, Jason Baird, Prosthetic Designer and Special Effects Makeup Department Head was nominated along with Special Effect Makeup Artists, Sean Genders, Gregory Nicotero, Jac Charlton, Chad Atkinson and Ben Ritterhouse. Their counterparts from the HBO True Blood Series for the episode, Scratches, join them in being recognized for their craft by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. From the True Blood episode, Scratches, the nominees are, Bridgette Ellis, Department Head Makeup Artist, a;ong with Special Effects Makeup Artists, Ned Neidhart, Bernhard Eicholz, Anthony Barlow, Sam Polin, Danielle Noe and Prosthetic Designers, Dan Rebert and Todd Masters, who is also a Special Effects Makeup Artist.

For The Power of Madonna, an episode of Glee, Eryn Krueger Mekash, Department Makeup Head is joined by Makeup Artists, Kelly Mitchell, Jennifer Greenberg, Robin Neal-Luce, Kelcey Fry and Zoe Haywas. For the episode titled, Theatrically from the show Glee, A Ryan Murphy TV Production in association with 20th Century Fox TV, Department Head Makeup Artist Eryn Krueger is joined by Makeup Artists Kelley Mitchell, Trent Carter, Jennifer Greenberg and Mike Mekash in receiving the Emmy Nomination for their mastery of the Art of Makeup.

Nominated along with Castle, Vampire Weekend, Glee, The Power of Madonna, and Glee, Theatrically, for the coveted Emmy Award for Outstanding Makeup for a Single-Camera Series (Non-Prosthetic) is Grey's Anatomy, Suicide is Painless, ABC Studios, Norman Leavitt, Department Makeup Head with Makeup Artists, Brigitte Bugayong and Michele Teleis.

Also in the running for the 2010 Emmy, Outstanding Makeup for a Single-Camera Series (Non-Prosthetic) is Mad Men, for the episode, Souvenir, Lionsgate Television,Lana Horochowski, Department Head Makeup Artist joined by Makeup Artists, Ron Pipes, Maggie Fung, Kate Shorter, Bonita Dehaven and Angie Wells.

The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences have announced the nominees for the 2010 Primetime Emmy Awards which will be held on Sunday August 29, 2010. The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences recognizes the contributions of Theatrical Makeup and Theatrical Makeup Artists with Nominations in the following categories: Outstanding Makeup For a Single-Camera Series (Non-Prosthetic), Outstanding Makeup For a Multi-Camera Series Or Special (Non-Prosthetic), Outstanding Makeup For a Miniseries Or a Movie ( Non-Prosthetic), and Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup For a Series, Miniseries, Movie Or A Special.

By recognizing the distinction between the work of Makeup Artists for Prosthetic and Non-Prosthetic Makeup, The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences honors the workmanship and discipline involved in the accomplishments of Makeup Artists who become experts in the various fields that are encompassed by the term, Makeup Artist. As the field of Makeup Artistry continues to be more specialized, future categories of Emmy Awards may have to be added, however, for now The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences is to be commended for the distinctions that honor Makeup Artists and their unique specialties.
