World Bodypainting Competitions Begin

After days of events the World Bodypainting Festival main event days began this morning July 17, 2009 and will continue through the 19th. The quest for the World Championships in five categories. The World Awards are presented in four main Body painting categories with the 5th award presented to a promising amateur in Brush/Sponge Body Painting makeup application. The four World Awards presented will highlight the talents of the best judged Bodypainting in the categories of, Brush/Sponge, Airbrush, Special Effects, and The night contest for UV Effects. Along with the Bodypainting Awards will be the 2009 World Award for Face Painting sponsored by Mehron.

The theme of July 17th, and 18th, 2009 is “Poetry – the power of words", while the final day's theme is, “Spirituality – beyond the visible world”, lofty goals for the imaginations of Body Painting Makeup Artists representing over 40 countries at the 2009 World Bodypainting Festival. After days of feeding off of each other's energy and enjoying festivities such as the Body Circus, the world's most creative Body Painting Makeup Artists will be pulling out all the stops to impress the judges in these exciting competitions that will result in 4 Master Body Painting Artists and 1 Amateur Bodypainting Makeup Artist receiving the the 2009 World BodyPainting Festival Award. In 2009 One creative Face Painting Makeup Artist will also receive the recognition of the Mehron sponsored Award for Face painting.

July 13 - 19, 2009 The World Bodypainting Festival

On July 13-19, 2009 Bodypainting Artists will converge on Seeboden, Austria for the 11th annual World Bodypainting Festival. The six day event features the World Championship Competitions in five different categories, a night contest for UV effects, World Facepainting and Special Effects Makeup Awards, along with a host of other events, workshops and an Amateur Award Contest.
