The Eyes of Fashion Week

Fashion Shows are to show off Fashion, to appeal to the buyers for exclusive and major retailers, as well as to present the designer's current collection to the world. To complete the Fashion Look, a team of hairstylists and makeup artists are called upon to accentuate the Look that the Designer is trying to achieve for the world debut of their latest Fashion Collection. The Fashion Show begins with the Professional Fashion Designer, a Production and Promotional Staff, Professional Models, Hairstylists and Makeup Artists. Each of these Professionals are highly skilled in their field of endeavor and although working independently of each other their work must mesh together to have a successful Runway Debut.

The Makeup Artists working on a fashion Week Presentation must be aware of all the other facets of the show. They must know the colors and themes of the fashions that will be presented, the hairstyles that will be used and the lighting that the production staff will be using. Once all this is known, the Key Makeup Artist will sketch out the look that will be most appropriate to complete the Look of the Show. The Fall 2011 Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week saw the debut presentation of the Falguni and Shane Peacock Spring 2012, with an All-Star Mehron Makeup Artist Team Keyed by Makeup Artist James Kevin (JK) Bennett, Emmy Award Winning Makeup Artist and Cosmetic Industry Instructor, Consultant and Innovator. The fit was perfect, one of the most innovative Fashion Design Team in the world today, paired with an Emmy Award Key Makeup Artist, leading a Team of Innovative Young Talented On the Rise makeup Artists, applying the Makeup of Mehron, Innovators of Makeup since 1927.

Eye Makeup is a most important aspect of the complete makeup look, especially in the spotlight of the runway. KJ Bennett and the Mehron Makeup Artists used the products from the Mehron Extreme Beauty Makeup Collection to highlight the eyes of the thirty five models who walked the runway for in the Spring 2012 Fashion Collection of Falguni and Shane Peacock. Through the camera lens of Emmy Award Winning Photographer Richard Esposito, Mehron Blog readers are able to get behind the scenes to the makeup room of this most successful fashion presentation.

Before it all begins Makeup Artists work up a sketch of their ideas.

Hours before Show Time, the Key Makeup Artist, in this case, Kevin James Bennett turns the idea sketch into reality on one of the thirty five models who will walk the Runway throughout the Fashion Show.

With the help of a Team of Makeup Artists, the makeup for thirty five models is completed in time for the show. Assisting JK Bennett at the New York Fashion Week debut by Falguni and Shane Peacock was an All-Star Team of Mehron Makeup Artists, Brandalyn Fulton, Edward Cruz, Meagan Hester, and Raedawn Johnson

Keyed by Emmy Award Winning Makeup Artist Kevin James Bennett with an All Star Mehron Makeup Artist Team, Mehron Makeup collaborated in the New York Fashion Week Debut of the world's hottest Fashion Designers Falguni and Shane Peacock. Noted as the Fashion Designers to the Stars Falguni and Shane Peacock Fashions have graced the bodies of Lady Gaga, Brittney Spears, Rihanna and Fergie among many others.

Mr. Bennett explained his choice of Mehron Makeup products and colors, "The Collection had a lot of bronze and metal tones along with bright colors so we decided to use metal colors in the makeup to keep it consistent Falguni and Shane clothes are very detailed and have a lot going on, so we wanted the face to be dramatic yet classic" Mr. Bennett decided on Mehron Metallic Powders to intensify the eyes. The Mehron Makeup Team applied Gold Metallic Powder on the lids and then blended Bronze Metallic Powder in the crease and up towards the brow bone pick up the metallic colors in the fashions. KJ Bennett and the Mehron Makeup Artist Team debuted the newest offering in the Mehron Beauty Makeup Collection, Black Kohl Eye Pencil to line the inner eyes on both top and bottom. The theme of the Fall 2011 Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week presentation by Falguni and Shane Peacock with Mehron Makeup was Rock and Roll, with a special live performance by Porcelain Black. Ms. Black is making waves with a new CD, This is what Rock and Roll Looks Like". Porcelain Black has roots winding back to her rock influences Led Zeppelin, David Bowie and Jimi Hendricks, she hails from the City that produced Madonna and Bob Segar, Detroit. Besides producing millions of automobiles, The Motor City has also produced millions of copies of hit songs. Ms. Black's allegiance to Detroit is evident by the tattoo across her knuckles that reads, Motor City".

The Falguni and Shane Peacock Spring 2012 Fashion Collection was highlighted by a rising Rock Star, but the collection shows influences of Persia, India, Egypt, balanced against modern designs and brilliant vivid color. A Fashion Presentation that featured the work of Fashions Hottest Designers, an Emmy Award Winning Makeup Artist and Photographer, Rock and Roll's newest shooting star who is bound to be an Award Winning Recording Artist wouldn't be complete without a Special Guest Makeup Artist.
