Thanksgiving Day Parade Makeup

Before the turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce and football games, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade marches down the streets of New York City with colorful character balloons, marching bands, entertainment personalities, dancers, clowns, Broadway Shows, floats and of course Santa Claus. Most American households have the parade on their television and for those lucky enough to be in the New York City area seeing the parade live is the treat of a lifetime. In 1927 when the first parade balloon, Felix the Cat, was introduced in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, a young makeup entrepreneur was producing Performance Makeup by hand in a loft not far from Macy's New York Store. He watched the Performers and saw the need to accentuate their faces in the natural light of the day. As each Parade became a larger spectacular, the Mehron Makeup Line also became larger.
