2009 IMATS - June 20-21

The 2009 International Makeup Artists Trade Show (IMATS) takes place in Pasadena, CA on June 20-21. Simply referred to as THE SHOW in the world of Makeup, the 2009 IMATS features Exhibitors, Keynote Speakers, Educational Classes and Demonstrations, Seminars, Competitions and the Museum of Makeup. The 2009 Keynote Speakers are Greg Cannom, who won this year’s Oscar® for Achievement in Makeup for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and a nine time Oscar nominee, along with the legendary Dick Smith, NBC's first makeup man, and Oscar® winner for his work on Amadeus. Also Keynoting will be Timothy Priano whose agency, Artists by Timothy Priano represents Makeup Artists and Hairstylists worldwide.

The Educational Schedule presents workshops, seminars, demonstrations and presentations in every conceivable aspect and speciality within the world of Makeup Artists. The 2009 Student Competitions will highlight Beauty and Fantasy on Saturday with an underlying theme of Gothic Beauty. Sunday's Competitors will vie in a competition to show off their skills in character / prosthetic and the theme will be X-Men Mutants. The Sunday competition deals with prosthetic applications and bald caps.
