Mary O'Rourke is currently a working model and actress with credits to her name dating back to her teenage years. Graduating from Tish at New York University in 2006, where she studied acting and directing, she is pursuing a career in Television and Film. While juggling casting calls and auditions Ms. O'Rourke began modeling for fashion and print in order to maintain an income while keeping her eye on the goal of a job as an actress and director. Being a Model (Live Canvas) for a Body Painter at the New York Makeup Show in May of 2009 was one of the calls that Mary answered.
Reporting to her assignment at the 2009 New York Makeup Show, Mary was introduced to Jinny Houle who was demonstrating the use of Mehron Makeup at the show. Discussing her experience as a Body Painting Model, Ms. O'Rourke recently related, " I'm a huge Mehron fan. Their products are absolutely fabulous. My favorite artist is Jinny. She is soo very talented and a great person. I loved working with her. It was the best few days! .....She didn't plan anything out ahead of time and just let her inspiration guide her. I was in awe and so excited to be there. It was a bit chilly. I would say that was the worst part."
Models must have the patience and the ability to keep their pose and poise for extended periods of times as the Body Painters engage in the sometimes intricate and tedious tasks of completing their artistic vision. Although the room temperature may not always be the best for the models dressed only in Body Painting Makeup, models like Mary O'Rourke endure the hardships like Professionals.
Despite the chill Ms. O'Rourke related how she enjoyed working with Jinny and Mehron at the 2009 Makeup Show, " I look forward to working with Mehron again in the near future. They seem like a family of dedicated artists. I had a lot of fun and am even using their foundation in some of my fashion/print jobs. Everyone asks me who makes it!!" The family at Mehron was pleased to have Mary O'Rourke wear the Mehron brand and look forward to her representing Mehron in the future.
