On the evening of September 9th, 2011 The Eastport, Maine Pirate Festival begins with music and a Pirate Ball, where the King and Queen of the festival are crowned followed by nighttime Cutlass Fighting and Sword Demonstrations. The next morning, September 10, the children start the day off with a Breakfast with the Pirates and Schooner Ride. The whole town gathers for the days activities beginning with the Pirate Parade, Pirate Parade, Suddy 5K Walk/Run, Pirate Reenactments complete with cannon fire and small arms firing. The day winds down with entertainment and a Fireworks display. The festival continues on Sunday September 11, with the Pirate Pet Parade, International Lobster Boat Race, and The Trail of the infamous female Pirates Anne Bonney and Mary Read.
