Your Invitation to Fashion Week

On Saturday, February 12, 2011, at Lincoln Center The Studio, the curtain rises on another thematic fashion collection by Spanish Fashion Designer Toni Francesc as part of Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week. For this season, Mr. Francesc has entitled his collection Garuda, without seeing his newest creations one can only guess at how he will tie it all together.

Garuda an ancient mythical creature with roots in Hinduism and Buddhism has many incarnations throughout history. Depicted in various forms by cultures throughout thousands of years, Garuda is a larger than life eagle, a golden body man with a white face, red feathers and a crown, enormous predatory birds, and a bird with a wing span that is miles wide and when in flight can block out the sun and cause hurricanes. As each culture memorializes Garuda in sculpture and art, each also assigns different color schemes to it. In India culture the story of Garuda is described in the epic book, Mahabharata. Garuda is said to have hatched from an egg in a fiery inferno equal to a cosmic blast that engulfs the end of an age.

In Buddhism mythology the Garuda are depicted as predatory birds with an expansive wing span and are golden winged. In Indonesia lore Garuda is linked to the concept of a Phoenix and is a National Symbol. Depictions throughout the cultures and the ages vary from a red winged bird to a golden winged bird, all assign super powers and some a quest for immortality.

We can only guess at how the newest Fashion Collection named Garuda by Toni Francesc which will premier at the New York Mercedes-Benz Fashion Show will intertwine with the mythology of Garuda. Will it be in the colors of red and gold, expansive flowing fabric, or the incorporation of a feathery look. When the curtain opens at 9:00 PM at The Studio in Lincoln Center, the world will witness how Mr. Francesc has interpreted the timeless myth of Garuda, and how the Mehron Makeup Artist Team led by Fashion Makeup Artist Jackie Mgido will accent the look with the true, bold vibrant colors of Mehron Makeup which they will choose from across all the Mehron Makeup Lines. Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week 2011

On February 12, 2011 at 9:00 PM, Mehron Makeup will once again join forces with Fashion Designer Toni Francesc at the New York Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in the presentation of his latest Fashion Collection. In the Fall of 2010, Mehron Makeup Artists under the direction of Fashion Makeup Artist Jackie Mgido, highlighted and complimented The Toni Francesc Spring 2011 Fashion Collection entitled, Urban Forest. In February 2010, Mehron Makeup and the Mehron Makeup Artist Team under the direction of Raedawn Johnson, assisted in presenting the Toni Francesc 2010 Fall Fashion Collection entitled, Artificial Life. It is with great anticipation and pleasure that Mehron Makeup will once again participate in presenting the 2011 Fall Fashion Collection by Toni Francesc at the Spring 2011 New York Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, complimenting the dynamic fashion design with the Professional Makeup by Mehron as applied by the Artistic Mehron Makeup Artist Team.

Urban Forest in Photos

On September 14, 2010 on the Runway of New York Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week held at Lincoln Center, Toni Francesc, Fashion Designer, presented his thematic fashion collection entitled, Urban Forest. Keying in on the colors represented by the bark of trees in the forest, Mr. Francesc featured a Fashion Collection that married the look of urban life with the colors of nature. Highlighting the colors of bark, beige, grey, and white accented by the colors of sculpted wood, Toni Francesc used the inspiration of the sky, sunrises and sunsets to add splashes of turquoise, coral, and shades of pink to add bright, vivid color to his 2011 Spring Fashion Line.

Under the direction of Makeup Artist Jackie Mgido, a Team of Mehron Makeup Artists selected Fashion Makeup from the extensive product lines of Mehron Makeup to compliment the Urban Forest Fashion Collection of Mr. Francesc. Choosing a Foundation Makeup for the 18 Models who walked the runway showing the Urban Forest Fashion Collection was made easy for the Mehron Makeup Artists with the Foundation of the Future, Celebré Pro HD Make-Up, This nature based Foundation Cream Makeup boasts a hue for every skin tone on earth along with the skin pampering natural ingredients of Aloe Vera, Vitamin E, and Pomegranate. Mehron Makeup and the Urban Forest

In conjunction with Mehron Makeup, Barcelona Fashion Designer Toni Francesc presented his Spring Fashion Collection at Lincoln Center, the new home of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City. Mr. Francesc entitled his presentation of his Spring 2011 line, "Urban Forest". Bringing the natural feel of the "green revolution" concept into his newest Fashion Collection for Spring 2011, Mr. Francesc visualizes the Urban Environment in harmony with nature. Taking the basic reusable element of wood, the "Urban Forest" Collection by Mr. Francesc features the colors and depth of design offered by this elementary material. Keying in on the tones of beige, white and grey, The Toni Francesc Collection for Spring 2011 is enlightened by splashes of yellow, coral and turquoise, representing the light, sea and air of the Urban Forest.

Mehron Fashion Makeup applied by a team of Makeup Artists led by Jackie Mgido perfectly complimented the colors and textures of the Francesc concept with a dynamic range of colors. Building on a base of the newest in Foundation Makeup, Celebré Pro HD Make-Up , the Mehron Makeup Artist Team provided a flawless skin tone for each of the 18 Models who presented Designer Francesc Urban Forest Collection. Using Paradise Makeup AQ in Yellow, Jet Black E.Y.E. Cream, Metallic Powder, and E.Y.E. Lashes applied with AdGem, The Team of Mehron Makeup Artists led by Ms, Mgido presented an eye look that coordinated with, and highlighted the colors of the fashion collection.

To obtain the "wood" look conjured up by the Urban Forest Collection, Makeup Artist Jackie Mgido blended shades of Celebré Pro HD Make-Up, mixed with Bubble Gum L.I.P. Cream to compliment the splashes of color in Mr. Francesc's Collection. Along with the natural look of each model accomplished with the high definition era natural Foundation Makeup of Celebré Pro HD Make-Up, the cheeks of the models were blended with Shell Pink and Pink Coral CHEEK Cream by Mehron.

After previewing the Urban Forest Collection the previous day, Jackie Mgido and the Mehron Makeup Team knew exactly which of the hundreds of products and shades from the Mehron Fashion Makeup Collection they were going to use to enhance the Urban Forest concept that Fashion Designer Toni Francesc envisioned for his Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Presentation.

Fashion Week Begins in New York City

September 9, 2010 marks the beginning of a new era for New York City Fashion Week. The familiar setting of Bryant Park is now a part of Fashion Week History. The new Era of Fashion Week at the cultural hub of New York City, Lincoln Center is the new setting for Mercedes-Benz fashion Week. The 2010 Fashion Week opened with the Designs of Nicholas K, a New York based design company founded by the Nicholas Kunz and Christopher Kunz with the final presentation on September 16, 2010 at 9:00 PM by IVANhelsinki, featuring the artistic fashions of Paola Ivana Suhonen who runs the company with her sister Prijo. In between the bookends of these two family companies, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week will witness the premier of designs by Christian Siriano, Nicole Miller, Binetti, Tommy Hilfiger, Betsey Johnson, Toni Francesc, Anna Sui, Rebecca Moses and dozens of other Fashion Designers from around the world.

Another Family Company that will be a part of 2010 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is Mehron Makeup, leaders in Theatrical Makeup since 1927 and now the innovators of fashion forward makeup. A View of "Artificial Life" at Fashion Week

Bringing his intensity and enthusiasm to New York from Barcelona, Spain, Fashion Designer Toni Francesc arrived at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week with a collection that is marvelously reflective of modern urban life, yet is ready for the future with tapered geometric lines in mineral colors. Mr. Francesc breathes life into an array of fabric choices that spans the clothing needs of life from casual wear to formal wear. The muted color choices of the Toni Francesc Fall 2010 Fall Collection, entitled "Artificial Life" include black, charcoal, steel, gray, rust and aluminum. To complete the look of his "Artificial Life" Fashion Collection, Mr. Francesc chose to partner with Mehron Makeup, innovators of Fashion Forward Makeup. The Mehron Makeup Artist Team led by Freelance Beauty Makeup Artist Raedawn Johnson completed the Francesc "Artificial Life" Look by using the mineral colors of Mehron Metallic Powder blended with Mixing Liquid for the lips of the models. Eyes were highlighted with an undefined smokey look created using Mehron Black Detailz, and Mehron Eye Makeup. Models were treated to a spa treatment in a bottle with Mehron Velvet Finish Primer to moisturize and revitalize their winter beaten skin. Using a a light application of Mehron Professional Foundation Makeup with a dusting of Metallic Powder the models were ready to present the "Artificial Life" Fashion Collection of Toni Francesc to the world.
