Carolyn Roper is a two time world champion at the World Bodypainting Festival, the largest and most recognized Body Painting Competition in the world. Carolyn is the only Body Painting Artist to win the Championship twice in the entire history of the World Bodypainting Festival (WBF). Although a two time World Champion in the Art of Body Painting, it is not the only Makeup Artistry that Carolyn pursues. Currently at the 2010 World Bodypainting Festival (WBF) being held in Seeboden, Austria from July 12-18, the world's finest congregation of Makeup Artists are gathered for a choreography of music, dance and show. 2010 World Bodypainting Festival Opens

The Body painting Event of the year has opened. The 2010 World Bodypainting Festival (WBF) opened on July 12, 2010 preceded by a Captain Morgan Welcome by the WBF Institute of Sound. The first day of the 2010 WBF features programs by the WBF Academy where the World's Leading Body Painters become the Faculty to instruct and lecture on the intricacies of Body Painting, sharing tips, techniques and critiques, strengthening the form of the 'student' attending the WBF Academy.

On Tuesday Mark Reid, Master Body Painter, is instructing at the WBF in a Special Workshop Sponsored by Mehron, Jeans and Tops. Mr. Reid will be sharing the techniques used to achieve a realistic look when Body Painting Jeans and Clothing on models. Using the Water Activated Cake Makeup, Paradise Makeup AQ, and his new Mark Reid™ Signature Brush Set just released by Mehron, Mr. Reid will be sharing with those in attendance the importance of detailing for the look of reality. Mark hails from the USA traveling the world in pursuit of his art, teaching and exhibiting his talents.

2010 Makeup Emmy Nominees Part 5

In the Category of Outstanding Makeup For a Miniseries Or a Movie (Non-Prosthetic) the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Nominees for the 2010 Emmy Award includes two Nominations for Dorothy Pearl, both as Department Makeup Head. In Georgia O'Keeffe, presented by Lifetime, a Sony Picture Television for Lifetime Television Production, Ms. Pearl is nominated along with Personal Makeup Artists, Kelley Gore Jefferson and Tarra Day, who also received a second nomination in this same category. For the Bee Holder,Cine Mosaic and Levinson/Fontana Productions in association with HBO, You Don't Know Jack, Dorothy Pearl was nominated for the 2010 Emmy along with Academy Award Makeup Artist John Caglione, Jr.

The second Emmy Nomination in this same category, Outstanding Makeup For a Miniseries Or a Movie (Non-Prosthetic), for Tarra Day in her role as Department Head Makeup Artist comes for the HBO presentation. Rounding out the category for the 2010 Emmy Award for Outstanding Makeup For a Miniseries Or a Movie (Non-Prosthetic), is the Department Head Makeup Artist Chiara Tripodi and Makeup Artist Toni French for the HBO presentation, The Pacific, a Playtone and Dreamworks Production in association with HBO Miniseries.

With thousands of programs in competition for an Emmy Award, even making the list of nominees is a true accomplishment and worthy of a standing ovation. The tens of thousands of episodes of the thousands of Television Series and Specials have a crew that supports the finished product that is eventually viewed. Each Television Series or Special has a Makeup Department staffed by Professional Makeup Artists, it is these unseen Professionals that are integral parts of the finished productions. So much so that the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has multiple categories for which Primetime Emmy Awards are presented.

In the category for Outstanding Makeup For A Multi-Camera Series Or Special (Non-Prosthetic) the nominees are varied, beginning with the 82nd Annual Academy Awards produced by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences with Bruce Grayson, Makeup Department Head, Barbara Fonte, Key Makeup Artist, and Makeup Artists Lori Benson and Melanie Mills.

Also Nominated for Outstanding Makeup For A Multi-Camera Series Or Special (Non-Prosthetic) is Peggy Nicholas, Department Head Makeup Artist with Makeup Artists Ken Diaz and Vikki McCarter for their work on the CBS show The Big Bang Theory for a presentation titled, The Electric Can Opener Fluctuation, a Chuck Lorre Production in Association with Warner Brothers Television.

Dancing With The Stars, show 901A, from BBC Worldwide Productions broadcast by ABC along with So You Think You can Dance, Episode #615/616A, broadcast on FOX, Dick Clark Productions with 19 Entertainment. For Dancing with the Stars the Makeup Artists nominees are Melaine Mills as Department Head Makeup Artist, Zena Shteysel, Key Makeup Artist with Makeup Artists, Patti Ramsey Bortoli, Angela Moos, Babara Fonte and Nadege Schoenfeld. So You Think You Can Dance Makeup Artists Nominees are, Department Head Makeup Artist, Amy Strozzi, with Key Makeup Artist Heather Cummings and Makeup Artists, Crystal Wolfchild, Tifanie White and Adam Christopher.

In the thick of the category for Outstanding Makeup For A Multi-Camera Series Or Special (Non-Prosthetic) is the long running Saturday Night Live for the episode hosted by Betty White, a production of SNL Studios in association with NBC Studios and Broadway Video. Receiving the coveted Emmy Nomination from Saturday Night Live is Louie Zakarian, Department Head Makeup Artist with Makeup Artists Josh Turi and Amy Tagliamonti.
