Life Imitates Body Painting Art

Body Painting is not a new Art Form, it has however become a very refined Art Form with specially formulated water activated cake makeup, and the influence of a movement of Body Painting Makeup Artists who are always exploring the next dimension. In the last few years the Art of Body Painting has evolved from simply using colorful Body Painting Makeup on Face and Body into an art form that includes all the schools of art, including Cubism, Modernism, Realism, Symbolism, Impressionism and Surrealism. With influences from tribal Body Painting performed with ancient methods of making body painting Colors from the art supplies of nature, colored clay, barks, plants and berries, Body Painting has come into its own with a wide selection of Body Painting Makeups, Brushes, and Applicators that offers the Body Painting Makeup Artist of the present a selection of colors that surpasses the colors that traditional canvas artists have had for centuries. The modern Body Painting Makeup Artist is truly an Artist, using all the disciplines and skills of more traditional artists to accomplish a living breathing art, that is infinite yet temporal. Unlike the masters of Art, the Body Painting Makeup Artist creates a masterpiece that is temporary and can only be preserved through the art of photography.

On September 9, 2011, at The Studio of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Lincoln Center located in heart of New York City, Mumbai Based Fashion Designers Falguni and Shane Peacock unveiled a Spring 2012 Fashion Collection that reflected the history of the arts of Ancient Cultures combined with the influences of the Art of Body Painting. Taking inspiration from various historical periods at their artistic apex and melding it with the current renaissance period of Body Painting Art, Falguni and Shane Peacock created a Spring Fashion Collection for 2012 that is temporal and infinite. Like the Art of Body Painting, the Art of the Falguni and Shane Peacock Spring 2012 Fashion Collection is only preserved by the Art of Photography, unless the fabrics of designs are specially preserved and exhibited. Like Body Painting, an art that is living, breathing and temporary, the Falguni and Shane Peacock Fashion Collection is an Art that is meant to be worn and lived.

The 2012 Spring Fashion Collection Presentation by Falguni and Shane Peacock with Mehron Makeup, Innovators of Face and Body painting Makeup included yet another Art that can only be preserved and enjoyed via a medium other that its own. The September 9, 2011 fashion Show of Falguni and Shane Peacock And Mehron makeup at New york Fashion Week included a Special appearance by Porcelain Black, a quickly rising star in the Art of Rock and Roll. It took the photography of Richard Esposito to capture the Art of the Falguni and Shane Peacock and Mehron Makeup, and the Body Painting Art of Jinny throughout 2011. Without the art of recording the art of Porcelain Black would also not be preserved beyond its performance time.

Body Painting at The Makeup Show New York 2010

Attendees on the second day of The Makeup Show New York 2010 witnessed a second Body Painting creation by Jinny Houle using Mehron Paradise Makeup AQ, the water activated cake makeup that is preferred by Body Painting Makeup Artists for its true consistent color pigmentation. Paradise Makeup AQ is a co-creation of Mehron and Jinny Houle, renowned Face Painting and Body Painting Makeup Artist. Sindy Perez was the model for Jinny Houle's second body painting creation at The Makeup Show New York 2010, and after completion was photographed in Times Square by Richard Esposito.

Photographer Richard Esposito decided on Times Square as the back drop for the second day of photographing Model Sindy Perez as body painted with Mehron Paradise Makeup AQ by Jinny Houle for its activity and color contrast. In 1927 Times Square was a significant area of New York during the founding of Mehron Makeup. In 1927 when Mehron was creating his Makeup by hand in a loft off Broadway, Times Square was becoming the new Theater District for Manhattan. Massive Play Houses were being constructed around Times Square as Mehron Makeup was becoming the Professional Theatrical Makeup of choice by the ever growing Theater Industry. Over eight decades later Times Square has changed but Mehron Makeup is still the true color, consistent Professional Theatrical Makeup that Performers on Broadway crave. Mehron has changed along with Times Square, not in quality, consistency or durability but in the diversity of Makeup Products that are now offered throughout their extensive lines of Body Painting Makeup, Face Painting Makeup, Clown Makeup, Beauty Makeup, Character Makeup, Fashion Makeup, FX Makeup, Extreme Beauty Makeup, Fantasy Makeup and the expanded line of Professional Theatrical Makeup.

In 1927, Mehron Melik might not ever have thought of his Makeup being on display in the midst of a busting Times Square and might have been amazed at how Mehron Makeup has grown in its diversity. In tribute to the Founder and the history of Mehron Makeup, the Mehron Blog presents the photographs of Sindy Perez in Mehron Makeup as applied by Jinny Houle and captured by the camera of Richard Esposito in the heart of Manhattan, the streets that Mehron walked as he introduced his Makeup to the world of Professional Performers.
