Create Your Own Reality - Body Art Fashion Show

The World Bodypainting Festival is about to open its 12th year of festivities. Billed as a choreography of music, dance and show, The World Body Painting Festival (WBF) encompasses art in all its forms, providing a showcase and community for artists from around the world. Featuring Artists who are on the frontier of art in photography, music, makeup, dance, and more, the WBF has grown into a Worldwide Festival that merges artistic expression into a collage of expression. This year the Body Art Fashion Show will present a new challenge to the creativity of selected artists. The Theme of the Body Art Fashion Show is, "Create Your Own Reality".

The Theme of the Body Art Fashion Show is summarized by the producers of the WBF Fashion Department as:

"Since the beginning of our history, humans have used our outer appearance to express our inner selves to the outside world. Within each culture and era rules are built and broken as trailblazers, visionaries and artists create new realities around themselves. Have you ever stopped to ask how much of your appearance is an expression of yourself? Which parts have you chosen to share with the outside world? Which aspects of your dress are dictated by the time and culture in which you live? Ten female body artists from around the globe have taken it up on themselves to breakdown these questions and forge a new reality. At the WBF 2010 they will share these expressions of body presentation With you as a spring board for your own imagination ... Welcome to Body Art Fashion. Where we create our own realities."

Participants by invitation to this Special Presentation by the WBF Fashion Department include Body Painting Makeup Artists from around the world. Scheduled to participate in this merging of art and fashion are:

2010 World Bodypainting Festival

The countdown continues to the largest body painting gathering in the world. Attendees to the UK International Makeup Artist and Trade Show (UK IMATS) were treated to the Body Painting talents of Carolyn Roper, the winner of the 2007 and 2009 World BodyPainting Championship in Austria. Ms. Roper again demonstrated her command of Body Painting Makeup with detail, composition and color control and as always produced a one of a kind work of body art on the canvas of model Armin Grossigger. Combining her talent in Beauty Makeup Application with her fascination with Body Art, Carolyn always produces a thematic work of art that intrigues the imagination.

Fresh from her appearance at the UK IMATS which ended on January 31, 2010, Carolyn Roper is now packing her Makeup Kit and heading to Las Vegas, NV, USA to participate in The North American Body Painting Convention and Competition being held February 12-14, 2010 at the Flamingo Hotel and Casino. Over the years Carolyn Roper has been a loyal user of Mehron Body Painting Makeup and it is with extreme honor that Mehron Makeup will once again sponsor Ms. Roper as she demonstrates and teaches her craft at The North American Body Painting Convention and Competition. Anyone who is interested in pursuing the Art of Body Painting should try to meet Ms. Roper at the Las Vegas event. Carolyn Roper Wins 1st Place at WBF

Carolyn Roper, the 2007 World Body Painting Champion, took the Award home again in 2009. Ms. Roper who is an accomplished Makeup Artist residing in the United Kingdom has also become one of the World's foremost Body Painting Artists, as can be attested two by her winning the World Body Painting Champion Award two out of the last three years.

Carolyn's attention to detail and natural eye for color can be seen in the above photo of her 1st Place Award Winning entry at the 2009 World Bodypainting Festival held in Austria from July 13 -19. Carolyn Roper is one of the Body Artists who featured LUX Airbrush Makeup by Mehron in her World Bodypainting Festival entry. Ms. Roper used Mehron's LUX Airbrush Makeup in conjunction with Mehron's Paradise Makeup AQ to accomplish her award winning vision. Mehron is so proud that Carolyn Roper used 100% Mehron Makeup in the creation of her Award Winning Entry that captured the World Bodypainting Champion title for her a second time.
