On the final night of the first North American Body Painting Championship (NABPC), February 14, 2010, held in Las Vegas,NV, USA, Mehron Makeup Artists were busy behind the scenes at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week show of Greek Fashion Designer, Vassilios Kostetsos. From February 12-14, 2010 Mehron Body Painting Makeup was used by Body Painting Makeup Artists in pursuit of the first NABPC title in the categories of Brush and Sponge and AirBrush Body Painting. Mehron Face and Body Painting Makeup got a workout at NABPC while across the country in New York City, Mehron Extreme Beauty Makeup was in the spotlight at the first of two Fashion Week Shows in which it starred.

Both Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Shows in which Mehron Makeup partnered with an international Fashion Designer, has a Team of Mehron Makeup Artists led by Freelance Beauty Makeup Artist Raedawn Johnson. In conjunction with the theme of each show the Mehron Makeup Artist Team worked hand in hand with the Fashion Designers to accomplish and complete the look that they were seeking for their Fashion Week Presentation. In a show entitled, "Eros Anikate Machan", Athens Fashion Designer Vassilios Kostetsos presented a Fall 2010 collection that highlighted bright, vibrant colors. The Mehron Makeup Artist Team used the Mehron Extreme Beauty Makeup Collection to complete the the colorful look that Mr. Kostetsos was seeking. Translated from the ancient Greek as "Love, invincible in battle", the Mehron Makeup Team used Metallic Silver Powder blended with Mehron Mixing Liquid ala Body Painting Artists to create faux "Greek Helmets" on the male models representing the battle theme.

The second night of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week for the Mehron Makeup Team was on February 16, 2010 working with Barcelona Fashion Designer Toni Francesc on his show named, "Artificial Life". Taking a distinctly different approach to the colors of Fall 2010, Mr. Francesc opted for darker mineral colors which Mehron Makeup Artists complemented with an undefined smoky eye look, gold lip coloring created with Gold Metallic Powder blended with Mehron Mixing Liquid, and a dusting of Metallic Powder over a light cream foundation application.

As Mehron Makeup enters its 83rd year of Professional Makeup Formulation, the legacy continues to grow. From the infancy of the Broadway Theater District in New York City in the 1920's to the height of Fashion at New York Fashion Week in 2010, Mehron Makeup has been a constant. Mehron Makeup has been a leader in Professional Theatrical Makeup, a standard for Clown Makeup, a contributor to the growth of Face Painting and Body Painting Makeup, and an innovator in Extreme Beauty Makeup. Toni Francesc 2010 Fashion with Mehron Gold

Flying in from Barcelona, Spain, Fashion Designer Toni Francesc came to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week with a Futuristic Fall 2010 Collection ready to greet alien life forms on any planet. Presenting for the second time under the white historic tents of Bryant Park, Mr. Francesc came prepared with a Fall Collection that would easily have won the hearts of all women abroad the Starship Enterprise, and one that also blends perfectly into modern urban industrial life. Toni Francesc's Fall 2010 Collection entitled "Artificial Life" brings the future to the present. From his Casual Wear to his Formal Wear every piece in the "Artificial Life" Fashion Collection of Toni Francesc featured comforting fabrics cut in precision futuristic lines that made the dark colored collection feel inviting and warm. Concentrated in black, charcoal, steel, and rust, Mr. Francesc's Fall 2010 Presentation was in stark contrast to the return of vibrant colors that other Designers at Fashion Week tended to favor.

By naming his Fall 2010 Fashion Collection Presentation, "Artificial Life", Designer Toni Francesc is hinting at the Star Trekkie look of his collection and is inviting humans to be well attired when interacting with extraterrestrial life in the future as they blend in with modern cityscape of steel, aluminum and concrete now. To complete the look of the future, Toni Francesc called upon Mehron, the Makeup of the Future with roots set deep into the past. Discarding the usual Fashion Makeup colors found in L.I.P. Cream, CHEEK Cream, and E.Y.E Cream, a Team of Mehron Makeup Artists, led by Beauty Makeup Artist Raedawn Johnson, delved into the future by creating a shiny mineral look using Mehron Mixing Liquid blended with Metallic Powder.

The Mehron Makeup Team first treated the Models to a refreshing, skin soothing application of Velvet Finish Primer, a natural based skin serum that contains a stable Vitamin C and Vitamin E that is easily absorbed for deep moisturizing. An undefined eye look was created using Mehron Black Detailz, and E.Y.E Powder for an industrial, modern look that will carry on through space travel. After a Professional Cream Mehron Foundation, the faces were accented with Gold Metallic Powder, and the lips colored using the blended Gold Metallic Powder and Mixing Liquid.

The Fashion Week Presentation partnership between Fashion Designer Toni Francesc and Mehron Makeup was captured by the cameras of Richard Espositio and Alberto Vincenzo Rutolo, and as in the past they have kindly granted access to their photographs for publication in the Mehron Blog, in order for Mehron Blog Readers to experience this Fashion Show from all angles. Vassilios, Mehron, the Heart of Fashion Week

Mehron Extreme Beauty Makeup and Fashion Week
On the evening of the Holiday of the Heart, Fashion Designer Vassilios Kostetsos in conjunction with Mehron Makeup presented his newest Fashion Collection on the runways of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. In homage to his Ancestry, Mr. Kostetsos set the theme of his Fall 2010 Fashion Collection with a quote from Sophocles, "Eros Anikate Machan", translated to English as "Love, invincible in Battle". The 2010 Fall Collection designed by Vassilios highlights the return to vibrant colors in solids and patterns, to accentuate the Kostetsos Collection the Mehron Makeup Team led by Beauty Makeup Artist Raedawn Johnson used Mehron Extreme Beauty Makeup.

In keeping with the today's new Makeup Look, Raedawn and the Mehron Makeup Team created dramatic eye looks for Vassilios' Women Fashion Models. Using E.Y.E Lashes for length and texture, the Mehron Makeup Artists applied Black Detailz combined with Black Eye Shadow to highlight the depths of the model's eye, a technique that recalls the Glamor Days of Hollywood. Using a makeup tool that wasn't available to the glamorous stars of Hollywood, Mehron Makeup Artists mixed Precious Gems Powder with Mixing Liquid by Mehron which enabled them to accent the Eye Makeup Look with a shimmer that captured the light as the models walked the runway. With Raedawn leading the vision, the Mehron Makeup Artist Team was able to compliment Vassilios Kostetsos' 2010 Fall Makeup collection, picking up on the vibrant colors of the Fashion with the bold colors of Mehron L.I.P. Liner and L.I.P. Color Cream.
For the male models Mr. Kostetsos preferred that the "battle" theme be carried through with Mehron Makeup. Keeping within the Extreme Beauty Makeup Line while borrowing from the techniques used by Face Painters who use Mehron Face Painting Makeup, the Mehron Team of Beauty Makeup Artists used Mehron Mixing Liquid with Metallic Powder. The Makeup for the Male Models using the Metallic Powder and Mehron Mixing Liquid was applied to their faces in the style of the classic Greek Helmet.
Mehron Makeup and Vassilios Kostetsos
The Mehron Makeup Artists were able to tie together the entire Kostetsos' Fall 2010 with colors and products from the Mehron Extreme Beauty Makeup Line, completing Vassilios' theme with a Makeup look that complimented each design.

The first pairing of Mehron Makeup and Vassilios Kostetsos was greeted enthusiastically by the fashion press, makeup press and beauty press. If the reaction to the presentation by those who witnessed the event live is any indication, this second partnership between Mehron and Vassilios will not be hampered by a sophomore jinx.

From the Big Tent to the Fashion Tent

Over Eighty Years of Makeup by Mehron
Long before the white canvas tents of New York City's Bryant Park Fashion Week Tents, Mehron Makeup starred in tents of a different sort. Mehron White Clown Face was the Clown Makeup of choice for the performers of the Greatest show on Earth as it traveled from town to town. In the early decades of the 1900's Clowns used more makeup than just about anyone, and they used it day after day as they performed twice a day under the Big Tent. The Clowns of the traveling circus used Mehron Clown Makeup because it provided true vivid colors that lasted through their long days. Through twice daily performances, lunch and downtime, the Clowns knew that once they applied their Makeup in the morning, they were ready for an entire day of bringing smiles to the crowds who packed the Big Tent.

As the Entertainment Industry changed over the decades there was a constant, Mehron Makeup. Taking a clue from the Clowns, the Performers on the stages of Vaudeville, Burlesque, Theater, Opera, Ballet, Silent Films, Talking Pictures, Television, Music Videos and Fashion Models all came to learn that the Makeup of choice for a clean, consistent, safe application was Mehron. Throughout the decades Mehron Makeup continued to offer the Makeup needed by the Entertainment Industry. From the basic white makeup used by clowns and mimes, to the intricate colors that are now prevalent in Body Painting Makeup and Face Painting Makeup, Mehron Makeup continued to research, develop, formulate and perfect the makeup that kept pace with the evolving entertainment industry.

In the early days of film, when monster movies were in vogue, Mehron Makeup was on the cusp of the birth of what would become, Character Makeup. As the monsters of the screen turned into the sirens of Hollywood's Glamorous Era, Mehron Makeup was there to enhance the beauty of starlets and stars. The Golden Age of Hollywood saw epic productions that skyrocketed the profession of Makeup Artist to a recognized craft. These Makeup Artists, who were the pioneers of a Profession, knew that the first name in makeup, Mehron, could be counted on for any assignment.

In the early 1900's Mehron Makeup was appearing under the canvas of the Circus Tents, now, in the early 2000's Mehron Makeup is once again appearing under tents, the tents that house New York Fashion Week. Although Mehron Makeup continues to produce the Clown White Makeup that clowns have counted on for eight decades, it now stars under the tents that showcase New York Fashion Week. The even, consistent color of Mehron Makeup now highlights the beauty of Fashion Models who walk the runways of one of the world's most important Fashion Events, the New York Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Wherever there is a need for Makeup, Mehron Makeup will be there to lead the way with Makeup that is produced with selected ingredients, perfected pigmentation, even coverage and detailed elegance. Performance Makeup Artists have known for over eighty years to look to Mehron Makeup for a quality makeup produced in the USA for the products they needed for their performers. Now in 2010, Beauty Makeup Artists are realizing that the makeup that is adorning the faces and bodies of the models of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is the Makeup they need for their clients. Mehron Fashion Makeup, like all Mehron Makeup, is not just for Professionals, Mehron Makeup is available to everyone through a Mehron Authorized Retailer.
